Minutes of 1st Annual Family Dinner Meeting
October 18, 2003
Meeting held at Al’s Diner, Glascow Street, Clyde, NY
37 voting members present
Meeting was called to order by Web Council Chairperson, Ellen (Rosewycke) at 8:40 pm.
Instead of a “grounding”, Ellen asked all present to link hands and feel the connectedness between us.
Old Business
There would not be any “official” reports given at this meeting since it’s still under the auspices of the Interim Council.
Ellen asked for recognition by all of the Interim Council Members: Ellen (Rosewycke), Rhonnie (HisLadyHeart), Mary (M’Lyssa), Deb (StoneLight Weaver), Ron (Damir), and Eric (Merlin).
Secretary’s reports can be found in the files section of the group elist on the internet. If anyone doesn’t have internet access and/or wants a hard copy of the minutes, please get in contact with Mary.
Treasurer – the change-over in still in the works, but the new account will be getting set up very soon. Valerie Woods (Akosua) did report that all our bills from SummerFest have been paid, and we’re “in the Black”. Rhonnie is the current Treasurer.
Memberships – Currently we’re at 59 dues paid members, and have a total of 252 members on the current mailing list. With the recent mailing of the new Web brochure and membership drive info, we’re hoping to hear back from more folks soon.
The Web Library has come back from Freeville to Galen Road, and we’re getting it organized with the help of Mary, Rhonnie, and Chris Z. (Ellen has more books to donate.) We should look into a “library promo”.
WinterFest is the first weekend in February. More information will be coming out shortly. There are limited work scholarships available. (Ellen asked for recognition of our “bus-boys” for the evening, Matt, David, and Ben, who are doing scholarship work tonight).
The Web Newsletter is in the works, and we’re planning to get the current issue out on 10/25. If anybody has anything they feel a burning need to submit, please get it to Mary ASAP!
New Business
Several folks have indicated a need and desire to do some serious magickal workings, particularly a Prosperity Spell, and it was suggested that this be done as part of the Full Moon Ritual on 11/8 as a part of the Wicca I program. Ellen’s idea for this is called “A Drop In The Bucket”. If you have “sacred water”, please bring to add to the spell, but in the meantime put some pennies under your pillow and get them charged up with your intent for the Moon Cycle during the Waxing Moon (which begins 10/26), and then bring them to the Ritual.
Wicca I class still has room for folks who want to sign up. Please get in touch with Dorothy (WebWeaver) ASAP. The first session is 11/7 thru 11/9, then the second session is two weeks later. On 11/8 the schedule for the evening is 7 pm KiaMarie’s Drum Circle, and 9 pm is Full Moon Ritual (open to all who wish to attend).
November 29, 2003 is the Web Family Thanksgiving Day. Reservations are requested, so get yours in and please let us know what kind of dish to pass you will be bringing.
“Healing Wednesdays” have been running for a while now, and it’s been really good. These sessions are usually done by appointment starting at 9 am, so get in touch with Dorothy if you have a need. Distance healing is also available, please send a note about what you need.
Valerie (Akosua) shared some news about the radio program that she runs/works on on NPR Radio, called Women’s Voices. This program was given a Clarion Award last week for what they’ve been doing. She also expressed thanks from herself and Majeera for all the notes and prayers and energy that everyone has been sending since their accident. She also let us know that her son is home from Irag, and asked us to keep others who are still there in our thoughts and energies.
