Hi boys and girls, Miss T Z here. In case you do not remember me, I am a traveling Zebra. That is why they call me Miss T Z. I have many stories to tell you of the places I have been and the animals I have met. This is one of my favorites!
This story starts with two Guinea Pigs. They were identical twins. In fact so identical, even mom and dad could not tell them apart. They even had the same exact birthmark, in the same exact place! A freckle on the right side of their noses.
They were named Simon and Sidney. They lived near a very quiet village, in a very quiet pine tree forest, near a very quiet creek. It only made a little trickle of noise that Simon and Sidney could barely hear. It’s soft rippling, and the sweet smell of the pines, always made Simon very sleepy. Every night he made sure to smell the air and listen to the water whisper till his eyes grew heavy, and off to sleep he would go. Simon thought It was wonderful living in the woods away from all the busyness of the big cities. But Sidney thought Simon was crazy liking the boring quiet. He wanted so much to go to the city. He loved the busyness, and he dreamed of leaving the silence to go to the city and become famous. He wanted to be a movie star. He wanted to be like Superman, or Spiderman. He even made a cape and pretended he could fly. He imagined himself being called Sidneyman the Hero.
One day Sidney told Simon he was going to run away to the city to become a star. Simon gasped! “ Sidney, the city is very dangerous, and full of noise and mean rats! Surely you don’t want to go into that kind of place. You should stay here where it is safe and quiet.”
“Quiet? Quiet?” Said Sidney. “This is exactly what I am leaving for! I can not stand all the quiet! I need some noise! This is so boring! I need to move where there are lots of things going on. I like busyness, and crowds, and noise. I Can not wait to get to the city!”
With that Sidney turned around and went to his room to pack. “But, but.” Simon said, but Sidney kept right on walking. It was no use, Sidney had made up his mind, and nothing was going to stop him.
Sidney had to walk a long way to the city with his bags at his side. It seemed he had been walking forever before he could see just a little bit of light in the far distance. It was dark out and Sidney became afraid. He had never been n the dark by himself before, especially so far from home. But he wanted to see the city, and fear was not going to stop him. He sat down to rest for a moment, dreaming of his fame. “I will be a hero! I will be the most famous actor of all!” Then he fell asleep, forgetting all about the darkness. A loud noise woke him and he jumped up looking into the darkness trying to see what it was! His heart beat really fast and he could hear himself breathing hard! What was that noise?
Well boys and girls, I will have to tell the rest of the story next time. Sidney was not so wise to run away. Please come back to learn the rest of his story.
Bye for now, Miss TZ
