New Year's Family Meeting 2004

Web Family Meeting 1/1/04

Called to order by Webweaver at 2:07 pm

Present:  Webweaver, Merlin, Ellen, William, Janice, Bob, Pegquod, Joanna, Bill C., Bliss, Bill D., Jim Z. Juniper, M’Lyssa, Rhonnie, Ditchwitch

Welcome by Webweaver

Grounding & Centering by Merlin

Evaluation Surveys were passed out and completed by all present.

Webweaver passed around the Talking Feather and asked for feedback as to why folks were here and what they might be looking for.

Reiki – yes from all, ASAP, as a stand-alone series outside of Wicca classes.  This may be scheduled for Wednesday evenings if there are enough folks able to come.  To be determined.

Shamanic Work – to continue?  Yes.  On the 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday of each month, starting at 3 pm.  What to incorporate?  Healing journeys – maybe do this for the 3rd journey each session.  Shamanism I & II, psychopomp work, soul retrievals

Wiccan Youth Group – to be started up as a Youth Panel led by Merlin, and written up by Webweaver for a PagaNet News article.  Round table discussion among our teens to see what they want and need.  Tentatively set for sometime in January.

Rites of Passage

Child Care – to be worked on by Rhonnie and Joanna

Wicca I is requested for this year by a large number of folks.  Dates set for March 5-7 & 19-21, with open dedication ceremony at the end.

Yoga Class or Tai Chi

Doug B. will be doing a QiGong workshop at SummerFest again.

Drum Circles have been cancelled at least until Spring.  Do we want to do stuff in this time slot?

Lucid Dreaming – March 13 – Webweaver to contact Dave L. about doing this.

Training as Ritualists: Ritual Construction – January 10 at 7 pm

Tantra – February 14 at 7 pm

Music as Sacred Sound – M’Lyssa to contact Steve D about this for tentatively in April.

Music & The Directions – Dancing the Directions – May 8 – led by Ditchwitch, to be used for SummerFest’s Saturday Fire (the Seven Directions)

Wicca III – Fall of 2004 – October 1-3, 15-17, 29-31

Finalized the Bear Name Voting.  The results were:

            Web’ster – 0

            Pooh – 4

            Ballou – 8

            Zodiac – 12

            Rupert – 18 – the Winner!

All present participated in the Wishing Web by writing out wishes for the New Year on colored tags and tying them to the Web which hangs upstairs in the SunRoom.

Healing Wednesdays – should this be continued or not?  Yes!  These sessions are for both teaching/learning and healing and are open to all.  The 2 pm time slot will occasionally be used as workshop time, once a month, maybe the 2nd or 3rd weeks, to be determined.  Two folks have approached Rhonnie to volunteer their services/expertise; one is a licensed massage therapist, and the other a Reiki Master/practitioner.

The feasibility of conducting some on-line workshops/classes was discussed, and folks liked the idea.  Some suggestions were: divination, astrology, crystals, herbs, numerology, runes.   Astral projection and past life work would need to be live sessions.

“Who Am I?” would be run after the next Wicca Class, like in May.

Elementals – more in-depth work was requested

Pantheons – more in-depth work requested

Skills Determination – healing and divination training

Creative Writing – an actual writers’ group, to learn how to write stories, etc.  It was decided to establish the WebWriters group online in YahooGroups.  A live meeting will be scheduled soon.

Native American Studies – to be researched by Jessie and Webweaver.  Might be able to contact folks from Ganondagan and the Oneidas for possible help.

Back to Basics Workshops – preparation/training for basic survival skills and how to live outside the power grid – approved.  To be set up and scheduled.

An on-line Web Classes Yahoogroups will be created so we can get started on this.

The feasibility of holding some workshops on Sundays and how Summer Scheduling would work was discussed.  Those present approved.

Family Meeting Dates – May 15 or 22 and November 6 – Peg and Rhonnie will check with Keith from Al’s Diner about this.

The Raffle was held.  The winners are:

            Deb Bowman – the wreath

            Ditchwitch – the centerpiece

            Bliss – the star box

            Jody – the wallhanging

            Joanna – the angels

$84.15 was raised through the raffle and “name the bear” voting.

Information given on the Evaluation forms will be compiled.

We’ve got the schedule pretty well “loaded” up to June, and will work on more things for later on in the year.

Meeting was adjourned at 6 pm. (approximately)

Respectfully submitted,

M’Lyssa
