Seminar Syllabus:
The Web is presenting an intermediate shamanic experience September 13 & 14 called Living Inner Visions. It will be offered for a $5 fee for materials with a 2-day schedule running all day Saturday 9/13 with a bonfire and Full Moon Ceremony presented for the Web by the participants in the evening and 10-4 on Sunday 9/14 (breakfast is at 9 am).
To understand this teaching experience, you should have attended last year’s September weekend Opening Inner Visions, or have practiced shamanic work sufficiently to have journeyed in both the upper and lower worlds, met your guides in both realms and developed the ability to seek information and guidance from them. You should have received your power song and become familiar with the plant spirits and land spirits around you. If you need to develop these skills, regular journey circles are scheduled at the Web over the summer of 2008 on the second and fourth Sundays from 2 pm to 4 pm.
We have as objectives:
1. . Expansion of the Journey experiences for shamanic practitioners to include individual journeys in the middle world to two of the 7 directions, to one’s personal healing garden, and to world crisis locations for divinatory purposes with the possibility of intervention services.
2. Observation and participation as a support person in shamanic healing practices, in group journeys for healing purposes, and depending on the opportunities available among the attendees. We may sail a healing canoe in the land of spirit.
3. Discussion of shape shifting from a shamanic perspective with options for a journey into the lower or middle world to become one’s animal ally/companion.
4. Discussion of dismemberment journeys from a shamanic perspective with options for a journey into the lower world to experience dismemberment as a personal healing journey with one’s animal ally.
Bring an outdoor chair, rain gear, outer wear suitable to the season for day time and night time, drums rattles and your shamanic journey notebook. Bring whatever you need to erect a personal altar outdoors. You may want to use only items found on the land, or bring a portable altar with standard magical stuff. That is up to you. Bring a lighter or fire starter. You may commute, stay over in the house or camp. Bring food and snacks for pot luck lunch and dinner. The menu will be developed and published later.
All Web courses are offered free of charge as part of our spiritual gift to you. We do charge $5 for copying costs on the printed materials provided for the Seminar. In return, do the reading and preparation requested. It is appropriate to honor your teachers as you are led. We have our four legged brothers and sisters in residence (dogs or cats). Always bring food to share for meal time. At Galen Road consider what you need in order to use the hot tub. Clothing is optional. Towels are provided.
The Web also holds Shamanic Journeying, Drum Circles on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. From 2pm - 4pm or 5pm. This is an open circle of people practicing core shamanism similar to Harner's Foundation for Shamanic Studies . We use repetitive drum beats to enter trance and journey to the upper, lower or middle worlds for healing, training, to gain information from our guides, etc. We usually can get 2 journeys in along with teaching and sharing personal experiences. Bring a notebook to record your journeys, frame drum or rattle if you have them, eye shield (optional), and floor pallet (if you don't want to journey sitting up). Beginners are welcome. (Not appropriate for children under 10. )
