SummerFest 2005 Meeting

 

June 25, 2005

 

Meeting called to order by Chair Pegqua at 4 pm, with 28 people in attendance.

 

1.  Welcome by Pegqua

 

2.  Financial Report by Ameya.

3.  Define A Member

            - someone who shows up!

            A voting member pays $1.00

 

4.  Elections

            Coming up in September.  If you are interested in sitting on The Council, please contact a current Council Trustee.

 

5.  What Worked / What Didn’t Work at SummerFest This Year?

 

      What Worked:

            - port a johns

            - new showers

            - kids program

            - email w/food assignment

            - pre-registration

            - outdoor sinks

            - Chorale

            - Merry Mischief

            - Vendors

            - Kitchen Witch / Food

            - Childrens Participation

            - New Fire Pit

            - The Red Tent

            - Kids at the Bonfires

            - Networking   (i.e., Elspeth and Kurt & Verena)

            - Schedule Lay-Out with Down-Time

            - Hard Copy of Schedule

            - Meal Sign-Up Notes on Schedule

            - Workshops having a 2 hour time frame and the variety

 

    What Didn’t Work

            - RV Hook-Ups

            - Sinks for Personal Care near showers

            - Bench in shower stalls

            - registration location

            - workshop attendance on first day

            - fewer workshops or offer twice

            -sprinklers

            - attendance

            - website updated

            - committee member participation (offsite/online work)

            - Signage for Roads

            - Tiki Torches / solar lights for nighttime

            - lighting for sites (possibly a fundraiser/donations toward solar lights for grounds)

            - food item ingredients

                        Labels and recipes, re, food allergy problems

 

6.  Next Year:  SummerFest 2006

 

            Joanne Shenandoah Concert on Wednesday night kicks it off.

            If we do it here at The Web = LOTS OF WORK!!!

            If we do it offsite: Smith Opera House in Geneva would cost us $500, and will seat 1400 people with a whole lot less work on our part.

            Consensus of those in attendance today :   SMITH OPERA HOUSE

            Ticket price to be determined.

 

7.   SummerFest 2006 Theme:  Common Ground

            Dates:  June 21-25, 2006  (Wednesday thru Sunday)

            Verena proposed a conference call among Committee Members and Rhonnie said she can set this up.

 

8.  WinterFest 2006, February 2006, Theme will be “Healing” The 4 Bodies.  

            - suggestion was made to include past life and guided meditations instruction and practice.

 

9.  Shamanism II to be held September 10 and 11, 2005.

 

10.  Pagan Pride Days, September 2005, for Rochester, Syracuse, FingerLakes, and Elmira (to mention a few) were announced.

 

11.  Jack and KJ will celebrate their anniversary with a Vows Renewal on Sept. 21, 2005.

 

12 .  All present were in favor of adjournment at 4:56 pm.
