WinterFest 2006

WinterFest '06: An Apple A Day: Exploring Alternative Healing Modalities

WinterFest 2006 Is Almost Here!

February 16-19, 2006 The Web Path Center presents WinterFest 2006.  This years’s theme, An Apple A Day: Exploring Alternative Healing Modalities gives us the opportunity to try out new skills and experience a deep healing for ourselves.  If you are working with any chronic medical condition, this one’s for you!  All events are being held at the Center at 4030 Galen Road, Clyde NY.

WinterFest 2006 begins with Reiki I-- a Pre-session held Thursday 2/16/06 from 2pm -9 pm, dinner break included.  Our Wicca IV students will be offering an introduction to this hands on energy healing in the afternoon, and pass attunements in the evening.  Reiki arrived in this country just before World War II from Asia and has become an increasingly popular healing modality that addresses the needs of body and soul in a gentle way which honors the individual’s privacy.  A suggested donation of $35 is requested for the pre-session, though individuals who are unemployed and underemployed may offer what they can afford.

Workshops start Friday 2/17/06 and continue through Sunday 2/19/06.  this year we are offering somethings we haven’t taught before:  Ear Candling, Alternatives For Auto-Immune Disorders, Winter Herbal Remedies, Making Your Own Herbal Teas, Nutritional Healing, Polarity Therapy, Breath And Chronic Heal Problems, Polarity Therapy, Death & Dying: The Art of the Psycho Pomp,  And Much More.  You will hear from some of us you know well:  Pegqua, Soft Moon Rising, Anemone, Ditchwitch and other Webfolk.  You will also get to meet some other healers from the area including Barb Baker, Mary Berardini, Karen Vanderbrook, Judy Moss and perhaps some others.

Our meal plan is special too!  Juniper and Anemone planned out a heart & soul healthy series of menus.  They plan on producing recipe cards and instructional sheets on how to make your food your medicine, including harmless little substitutions your kids will never detect that cut the fat and sugars we consume.  We will also emphasize healthy fat content and offer meat as a condiment instead of the main entrée!  This is a different way to approach a meal, and an important one if we are to reduce chronic pain, difficult menses, and heart threatening food choices in our habits.  We have also been sensitive to people with wheat allergies, so this is truly and adventure in eating we hope you will enjoy!  Expect lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains, herbs, spices and olive oil!   Even your sweet tooth will be pampered.

Kids 12 and under are free.  We have a program set up for them too!  The older ones and teens will help prepare Saturday’s lunch.  There are games, puzzles, a chance to heart your heart and learn what’s good to keep it going, time outside (weather permitting) and time to catch your breath.  Bring a book to read for quiet time, and out door clothes to run around in.

Because it is a Healing WinterFest, Wolf  Dancer is coordinating healing sessions and hot tub sessions by appointments.  Most of the workshop presenters will be offering private healing sessions.  Some will be free.  Some providers will charge the usual rate.  If you need help, WinterFest may open the door for something new.  Remember this healing work is part of our spiritual path, and is in no way a substitute or replacement for your regular medical treatment.

Friday night we are having a Buffet Banquet with a Keynote speaker (maybe somebody you know!) Saturday night is a Drum And Dance Circle with a fund raising raffle and auction.  Sunday closes out with a Shamanic Healing Circle followed by an Herbal Tea Party to bid you Fare Well in 2006!
